”I love the process of making a wood engraving. It’s a mix of drawing, delightful materials and simple technology. The prints have a particular character with silvery lines and bold contrasts that cannot result from any other medium.

There is potential to create an intriguing little space in a very simple way. The image is no more than marks cut into the surface of a Boxwood block but is not restricted at all — there can be many different approaches. Mine is to describe movement, to try and capture a moment without losing the sense of motion.”
